Back End Developer

As a Back End Developer for Idea Marketing Group, you will be an integral member of our highly collaborative team of designers and developers; delivering second-to-none web experiences built on WordPress for our clients. You have a passion for pushing the envelope on clean, responsive, and fast user interfaces as well as a deep understanding of what makes it all work behind the scenes.

  • You must share examples of your code, GitHub is preferred with PHP code samples

Responsibilities

  • Working within deadlines without sacrificing attention to detail
  • Continually improving WordPress Skills (actions, filters, plugin development)
  • Regularly practicing, applying, and following HTML5, CSS (SASS), PHP (OOP), and JavaScript/JQuery code standards
  • Working understanding including CSS, JavaScript, and SVG
  • Troubleshoot and document client development issues
  • Working understanding of database architecture queries utilizing MySQL
  • Assist in upselling enhancements and on-going packages to existing clients
  • Remain current on industry trends, implementing new technology as necessary
  • Daily problem solving as needed as support to other departments
  • Continually seek out professional development opportunities to develop skills
  • Travel 10 – 20% based on need, customer face to face interaction, and team support

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 2-5 years of related code development experience
  • Good listening skills with applied creative thinking
  • Excellence in time and task management, attention to detail, and overall organization
  • Self-motivated and driven; able to work independently or collaboratively as part of a team
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex information clearly and persuasively
  • Advanced knowledge of WordPress, HTML5, CSS, PHP, and JavaScript/JQuery
