Will we be able to make changes to our website after it’s built?
The short answer is “Yes.”
All Idea Marketing Group clients own the websites we build for them. That means they own the code; they have access to everything on the back end; they can make changes as often as they want.
“When we say you can edit all of the content, we mean it,” Idea Marketing Group President Darren Fox says. “Many companies say that, but only give limited access to sections and things like navigation menus are out of their control. That is a section that you definitely need control over because websites are meant to grow and evolve. More control can also be scary but that is why we love WordPress, there is a built-in revision history in case things go haywire, it only takes a couple clicks to restore it back to how it was.”
How do we use WordPress to update our website?
WordPress is the Content Management System (CMS) we use to build all of our custom websites. Because this question comes up so often, we include a free WordPress training for every client once their site launches.
In our WordPress training, we teach clients how to access the back end of their website and update content through the user-friendly dashboard.
“We make sure that all the site content, images, and videos are manageable through built-in WordPress editors, which gives clients more flexibility within the design,” says Len Bradley, Idea Marketing Group Lead Web Developer.
What content can we add, change, or update on our WordPress website?
Typically, companies will want to publish blog articles, create new pages, upload images, add new team members and locations, create forms, or feature customer testimonials. After a short WordPress training, staff members should be able to make each of these changes.
