Idea Marketing Group was proud to sponsor It Takes A Village – Yorkville, a Feed My Starving Children MobilePack Event.
Held on Friday January 13th and Saturday January 14th at Yorkville Middle School, this amazing fundraiser brought together nearly 500 community volunteers of all ages to pack meals for malnourished children around the world.
Feed My Starving Children is an incredible 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to ending world hunger one child at a time. Volunteers packed meals that combine 4 main ingredients that have been proven to be the most effective in feeding malnourished children. Those meals are then shipped out to different countries by Feed My Starving Children.
According to the Feed My Starving Children website, 6,200 children die each day from hunger. All it takes is 22 cents to provide a child with one meal, and just $80 to feed a child for an entire year.
It Takes A Village – Yorkville pledged to raise $24,000 to pay for their goal of 108,000 packed meals. They exceeded that goal, raising a total of $28,304 and packing 108,864 meals!
This was the first year a Feed My Starving Children MobilePack Event has been held in Yorkville, and we’d like to give a huge shoutout to Katie Morton for her tireless efforts in organizing and running the entire event.
This was a truly great way to make a hands-on difference in the lives of children around the globe and we were honored to support such an impactful community event!
